Sweat & (Outside of) the City

The ultimate car driver has RETURNED from the big city to a delightful land where she can tool around in Flanders, the 2004 Civic. That's right, I'm on Long Island.

Inspiration and Motivation

hiya folks

so it's been awhile since i've posted anything
not to say i haven't had some fun adventures
the one and only kelly ronan is officially a william st RA
sean whiting is now a william st resident as he waits
for his visa to become a swedish employee to arrive
mike leichner and anthony ching are waiting in the wings
and will be here next week
new york is the new seattle!

i went to philly last week to see mike doughty
and jersey pals (bk, X, SB, etc)
and then i reveled in the wonder of being out of new york
i saw trees, went to 4 different wawas
and saw a turtle cross a road!

and in this week alone
i went to see jon stewart
(lawrenceville represent!)
and rent!

so i leave for alaska in 2 weeks
that's really hard to believe
considering how tired i've been at the end of everyday
i'm a little nervous about 2 weeks of hammer swingin'
but as BK likes to say, i only have 24 hours of actual labor
which so isn't true

but now i should go into the office
hooray for fridays!
boo for heat and humidity!

ok...i admit i glanced over the alaska itinerary the first time...it's going to be about 60 hours of actual building -- 7 days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one day from 8 a.m. to noon (i assumed an hour of breaks each full work day).

of course, you have to love a trip to otter cove on friday, july 14! maybe you'll see ma and emmet there putting holes in the washtub, hocking the tool chest and singing...

    Now she has gone
    Now she has left us
    Left with sweet memories
    And left with something more
    We've made curtains and handkerchiefs
    And clothing for the poor
    From the one bathing suit
    That your grandma otter wore
    From the one bathing suit
    That your grandma otter wore
