Sweat & (Outside of) the City

The ultimate car driver has RETURNED from the big city to a delightful land where she can tool around in Flanders, the 2004 Civic. That's right, I'm on Long Island.

my blog title is prophetic

so for the past few days
i've been feeling under the weather
and apparently, the weather has the tendency
to make me feel all feverish and sweaty

here's a good thing
i read a whole book this afternoon
whilst resting in bed
i read "my friend leonard" by james frey
oprah's current literary crush
and author of "a million little pieces"
it was a really good book
but his writing style makes my eyes cross sometimes
(eg, his lack of indentation and punctuation
which some may say is ironic considering my complete
lack of adherance to any semblance of proper style here)
i also read another book called "smashed" by
this mid-20something chick about here years as an alcohol abuser
it was fascinating since it's a life that is so foreign to me
and is one that is apparently so common to folks like those i work with
(meaning college students)

and now i'm off to stick my face
in a bowl of cold water

    Hope you feel better!

In our house, sickness now means mama and papa are up all night taking care of the little monster. Ugh.

I visited that OverheardinNewYork.com site for the first time in ages and thought of you when I read this...

Girl: She doesn't want to go to Little Italy to find an Italian restaurant, she wants to go to Olive Garden in Times Square!
