so let's recap
i have my masters in counseling
i really believe in the benefit of a good counseling relationship
i've been seeing this counselor for the past few months
i go every other week
i always got the feeling that she wanted me to come every week
and i told her as much once
well, here's the thing
i don't want to go anymore
multiple reasons, such as
1) i have a better use for the $20 copay
2) i don't really feel like talking to this woman
3) and do i need a reason?
so today i tried to break up
and it didn't go well
for reasons i don't want to share
but anyway
i have an appt. with her next week
1 WEEK!! not even 2 damn weeks
i could have just cancelled over the phone
and you know what?
i think i just might
especially after she called me KATHRYN
my name is katie!

on a completely different note
i had the pleasure of having really good company this weekend
the famous miyahara sisters came in for spring break 06
they were fabulous guests!!
not only did they take me out for dinner
(at a quaint bisto)
but they made me chicken parm on saturday!!
best guests ever!

i walked by magnolia bakery today and thought
"those are some damn crappy cupcakes"
and i thought this whilst eating a chocolate gelato

this weekend is the big game show audition
we lost neil to family/education commitments
so BK will be pinch hitting
let's go team balance transfers!!
and the best part about this
is that lizzie musar will be visiting for the weekend!

and now, i'm going to sleep

so here it is Friday
i am in possession of a new pint of packed red blood cells
(i found out i'm O+)
and unfortunately, i'm not feeling as good as i normally do after a transfusion
something bizarre is going on
which means more doctor's appointments
and more copays
just wait, one of these days i'll have a paypal link
on this page to contribute to my health fund

but i have been infused with energy
after last night's NCAA games
go TEXAS, yay UCLA!!!
i moved from 2049642 to 963890 in the espn fantasy tourney
woo hoo!!!

hmm, i got nothin' else
and i need to get into the office
ah, the office.......

Bring on the Blood

so i'm going to get a transfusion tomorrow am
and this highlights one of the reasons i will not be staying in nyc for a long time
taking the subway to the hospital
i feel like crap and i take the damn subway
(perhaps if i was bleeding, i might take a taxi
but i can walk so, so the number 6 train it is)

and listen to this
i walked past the new trader joe's this afternoon (3:30ish)
and there was a damn line 20 people deep to get in!!
looks like i won't be going there until 2007

i had a lovely time in NJ this weekend with the shimpster
we watched lots of college basketball
and i sounded fairly knowledgable
(despite the fact my bracket blows!)
i had a chicken gyro, bought lots of staples at target
and some cheapo new birkenstocks
yes yes, i'm still sticking to the budget

and now i am going to go eat brussel sprouts
that should make me feel better!

I Know, I Know

yes, yes, i have neglected my poor blog
and my devoted audience
(looking in kelly ronan's general direction)
but recently, i just haven't felt like sharing
which is quite odd for me
i'm quite the sharing type

but let us talk about good news
1) TRADER JOE'S OPENS TOMORROW IN UNION SQUARE!!!
granted, it will be a madhouse for at least the first month
but that won't stop me from entering next week
2) I am going to jersey to visit the one and only shimpy
i love jersey and i love visiting shimpy
we will watch NCAA basketball--GO DAWGS!!
3) yeah, this is sorta embarrassing
but i'm super excited that INXS is going to be in NYC again
tix go on sale on saturday
4) lizzie musar is spending the night tonight
as she returns from her grande spanish adventure
ole!
5) i am getting a visit from a ms. bryn miyahara and her sis stacey next week
maybe bryn will make me a poster
so i can show my RAs what advertising really is!
6) and finally, SPRING BREAK STARTS TOMORROW!!
granted, lots of students are sticking around
but still, lots are leaving
JUST BE SAFE!!!

and on that note
i'm going to eat some dinner
and go see more free plays...

I Do Not Agree...

that Crash should have won the Best Picture Oscar
I was rooting for Brokeback
now granted, I didn't see Crash
so I can't really make an educated comparision
but too bad
I really wanted Brokeback to win

and I do not agree with the fact that
the fun size snickers bar has gotten smaller
since the last time i purchased one
there's nothing fun about less candy for more money

It's Just Hair

ok, i should have gone to bed
but instead i watched the last 15 minutes of "what not to wear"
the show that i think i am a perfect candidate for
but no one will nominate me for
hint hint

anyway, there's this woman on with at least 2 feet of hair
now mind you, she was just given $5000 to spend on a new wardrobe
with the idea that she also gets a hair and face makeover
and she doesn't ever agree to a damn trim
"i feel like it would be the wrong choice"
no, the wrong choice is taking $5000
and then wuss out in the end
i've never understood people who are scared to cut their hair
perhaps i'm on the other end of the spectrum
too eager to cut my hair
evidence--my seattle driver's license
but still, cut your damn hair if they give you $5000
or don't take the money

Friday Nights in the Financial District

a Friday night
and i'm posting to my blog
while i watch season 1 of grey's anatomy

i read this one website
Gawker
all about the fabulousness of new york
and ever couple of days they feature blogs
that detail writers exploits in the city
usually involving copious amounts of alcohol
designer shoes and $200 meals
christ, one chick even got a book deal out of it
i'm not gonna give you her website
because frankly, i find her work nauseating
so much so that i left a not so nice comment
anyway, here's my point
friday nights on the futon in the finacial district
are not going to get me mentioned on gawker
but perhaps if i do this

however, i must say that i really enjoy my solitary friday nights
i feel so drained after the work week
i vant to be alone

i really am enjoying grey's anatomy
(but i still find meredith annoying)
and i definitely got wistful during the opening
with the flyover shots of seattle
ah seattle
city where i used to cry at my job more often than not
and while i don't love love love the RHD gig right now in NYC
i'm certainly not crying

and on a final note
i now have a shorter haircut
