Pilotoftomorrow, you blow

who is pilotoftomorrow, you may ask?
well, he (i'm assuming it's a he) is the jerk who bid on my ipod
and then retracted his bid
"because the seller changed the description"
LIES LIES LIES
i changed my description by adding cool stuff
(like the itrip and a/c adapter)
oooh pilotoftomorrow, i would like to kick you in the shins
i am cyber-kicking you in the shins right now
kick kick kick!

anyway
i bought a new ipod
welcome to my world
dr. hibbert!
here is a picture
and if you look really closely
you will see mike doughty's video for
"looking from the world at the bottom of the world"

and here's some good news
mike doughty will be in teaneck in april

Same Old Same Old

ok, so now i am fixated on figuring out my finances
this evening i spent a few hours figuring out exact payments
and how i will be able to be debt free by march 2007
this link made things much easier
and here's the best part
i'm taking into account the habitat trip
that being said
cross your fingers for no medical emergencies
i'm looking at you ruined disneyworld trip of '97!

and speaking of money
i'm a weak person
and going to buy a new ipod tomorrow
that's assuming that the soho store has a black 30 gig in stock
i shall call them when i wake up tomorrow

here's some sad news
(ok, it's not really sad)
i don't have any concerts in my future
wouldn't you know it
but ben folds is opening his spring tour in seattle
and there's no east coast dates yet
wtf?
i guess winter is sort of a slow time for shows
but if i don't buy concert tickets shortly
depression will kick in

but on a happier note
let's hear it for 3-day weekends!
woo hoo!

and a special shoutout to my seattle homies
especially all my lander RAs
the one and only bryn miyahara will be here in less than a month
spring break, grad school style!

Jinx!

yeah
i totally jinxed myself with that last post
about how i'm getting my finances in order
because yesterday, as i'm trudging through the mess of slush
i dropped my ipod onto the sidewalk in a puddle
and thus, snowball 2 is dead
i pried the cover off
i wiggled the hard drive
i smacked it with my hand
and against tables, counters
but alas, dead as a doornail

on a much happier note
i went to see INXS last night at lincoln center
it was a great show
all the hits i wanted
and the new songs were pretty good
good lord, the new lead singer (jd fortune) is so damn sexy
(a word i rarely throw around, but it is warranted)
i was standing at the stage
surrounded by women batting their eyes and boobs
what was really great about this show
was how much fun JD was having
and when the band left for their encore
he just stood there taking in the whole thing
having lincoln center on their feet screaming for him
he looked like a little kid, wide-eyed amazement

ok, clarification
I AM NOT MOVING
but i will say, without a doubt
i am moving next summer
bye bye NYC

and finally
please take note of the new link on the side
mr. matt kingston, former william st rhd
and my savior when it comes to my sanity
is on now included for your clicking pleasure
he's been doing this blogging thing fo'ever
he is a true first adopter!

Fiscally Responsible

i moved to new york
and set a goal to get my finances in shape
yes, there are student loans in my long-term future
but let's talk credit cards
thanks to my new friend scott at citibank
i have a 1.9% apr for 24 months
and according to my calculations
i will be out of the hole by july 2007
(just when i'm planning on moving again
and will need to rack up ridiculous moving charges)
i finally feel like i'm making a marked dent in my debt
and the idea of being out of it is actually a reality
lord, i wish i had something cool to show for it
but alas, i lived on credit cards during grad school
(and lest we not forget, the extreme generosity of BK
which extends today whenever we go out to eat)

so apparently i have made it through
NYC BLIZZARD 2006 (dum, dum, DUM!)
and i must say, it sure doesn't seem like
2 feet of snow has fallen
i think it's because i don't have a car to dig out
(the one time i don't mind being carless)
i think i'll probably realize it when i walk from the subway station tomorrow morning

and now, i am going to bed

BUT WAIT!
check out my supercool links to the side
blogs of fun people
and of note is the always amazing maureen
IRON MO!
once again training for ANOTHER ironman
to raise money for the leukemia and lymphoma
if you have a lil pocket money gathering dust
why don't you go visit her site
and then click that lovely "DONATE" button?
here, now you don't even have to click the side link
IRON MO ROCKS!

grrrrrrrrrr

i do not feel well
the jackhammers outside don't help
my head feels oogy
and wait!
my ny state taxes were rejected
so i just went to refile them
adding to the ooginess
for one brief, shining moment
my state refund went up by $300
but then poof!
back down into the $170 range

i have to go return library books
grrrrrrrr

but on a good note
i had a voicemail from the always wonderful kelly ronan
she of the june 28th birthday
and apparently she's mailing me something
woo hoo!!

Silly Blogger

ok, that last post about alaska doesn't make sense
since blogger seems to have eaten my entry
where i explain about my trip in july
so here's a recap
i'm going to be spending july 8-22 in anchorage alaska
with a team from habitat for humanity working to give
deserving people a home
and you can help make this happen
by donating to help send me
(but not pressure...)

and speaking of donations
shout out to BK
Brian Kelley, continuing to support me in all that i do (especially financially!)
by making my first donation!!
and he did it as a test to see if the system worked!

and i woke up this morning to an email
saying that the queen of good causes
ms. maureen "heck yeah i'm an ironwoman!" atkins
has generously donated
thanks mo!
(a thank you note is forthcoming...)

Warm Up My Buzzer Thumb

Lizzie, Neil, and I are going on TV!!!!
ok, not yet
we are auditioning to be on TV
specifically, THE WORLD SERIES OF POP CULTURE
doesn't that sound like a show made for me??

and if i win $100,000 (split between my teammates)
that means my trip to alaska will be paid for
without any relying on citibank (hooray!)
of course, i won't know if i win until april 28th
and by then, i need to have most of the $2500 paid for
so perhaps you may be thinking
how can you help me get to alaska?
well, i'm glad you asked
if you donate to my trip
it's a delightful tax write off
and you get to help give deserving people a home!!
Help send Katie to Alaska to build houses!"
i apologize in advance for hitting people up for money
i'll be sending out an email shortly explaining my plans in more detail
but i promise, i'm not gonna become a spammer!

i'm watching "100 greatest teen idols" on vh1
i think of it as preparing for my tv debut!!
